On Saturday (03/26/2022), the UGM Korean Language and Culture Student Association (Himahara) successfully held one of its work programs entitled “Kometshow 2022: Korean Major Talk Show”. This activity aims to introduce the UGM Korean Language and Culture program to the general public, especially prospective new students. The event was held online through the Zoom video conferencing platform and was very lively and enthusiastically received by the participants.

The event was opened with remarks by the Himahara Year 2022 Chairperson, Vanesa Olivia (2020), and continued with remarks by the study program director, Mr. Suray Agung Nugroho, M.A., Ph.D. After all remarks were made, the event continued with a presentation by the first speaker, Hasna Ega A. (2018), as the administrator of the BKK UGM study program in 2022. Hasna provided material about the courses offered in this program, coupled with information about the exchange student program opportunities that can be taken up by students of the BKK UGM program.

After Hasna’s presentation, the next session was filled by Eiva Nabila N. (2019) as the second resource person with her presentation about her exchange experience to Padua, Italy through the IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) program. In addition, Eiva also shared her experience as a BKK student, including her organizational experience and the events she participated in. After Eiva’s presentation session was over, there was one last presentation session left. However, before the last session, the participants were given a little refreshment time filled with games and ice-breaking. The games session was led by the organizers, Aliyah and Salma, for twenty minutes, which was very exciting and full of laughter and vitality from the participants.

The last presentation session was held by the third speaker, Verena Amalia (Alumni of BKK UGM 2016). The material presented discussed the exchange experience at Kyungpook National University (KNU) and her work experience after graduating from the BKK UGM program. The purpose of the presentation was to show that students who graduate from the BKK program have a wide range of job opportunities. Finally, a question and answer session was held between the participants and the speakers. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in asking various and unique questions. Then, the event was closed with a photo session and displayed responses and impressions of the participants’ messages regarding the implementation of the event.

Seeing the success of the Kometshow 2022 event, it is hoped that Himahara’s program review event can be held with even more excitement and enthusiasm in the future. This type of event is also expected to provide benefits and become a facility for participants to learn more about BKK UGM study programs (Himahara/Ed.SN).
