The UGM Korean Program Studies sent 2 students to participate in the KF Global e-School 한국학 논문쓰기 워크샵 activity this year. The students were Amirah Ayu Kamilia and Roro ‘Ayniy Rohmatulloh from the class of 2018 . This workshop held online from July 17th, 2023 to August 10th, 2023. Participants who attended this workshop came from 4 universities in different countries, namely 북경외대 (Beijing Foreign Studies University), 북경어언대 (Beijing Language and Culture University), 국립정치대 (National Chengchi University), 호치민 인문사회대 (Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities), 호치민 외국어정보대 (Ho Chi Minh University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology) and 가자마다대(Gadjah Mada University).

This workshop purposed to provide guidances and corrections for students regarding writing Korean language documents (한국어 실용문) that can be used to continue their education to the next level (Master’s degree) or for work. This workshop divided students into 8 small groups. Each group consisted of 1 mentor and 4-5 mentees. The writing training also was divided into several stages, namely in the first week the self introduction of writing training, in the second week the CV’s writing training, the third week the research plan of writing training for those who want to continue their master’s degree or reports for those who want to continue their work. Then, at the end of the program, Roro ‘Ayniy, one of the workshop participants, managed to get an excellent award and obtained a certificate.

Not only that, on that day there was a certificate awarding event for students who had attended the KF Global E-School. These certificates were given to students from several batches, namely the class of 2018, 2019 and 2020. The certificates were awarded directly by Mr. Cho Young Han as the representative of Korea Foundation.

Here is Roro’s impressions after participating in the activity:

with a fairly tight implementation time, it was an extraordinary challenge because I have to work on the assignments in this workshop and in the midst of the busy preparation for the graduation. Alhamdulillah, thanks to the guidance and input from the mentor as well so I got the excellent award that I never expected. The award that I won at the end of my study period is a source of pride for me

-Roro (2018)

We congratulated Roro on the award she received. Hopefully the knowledge gained is useful and useful in the future! ^^
