On Saturday, September 4, 2021, HIMAHARA, the Korean Language and Culture Student Association of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held an event titled “Career: Alumni Talk” which was conducted online.
This event was aimed at all active students of the Korean Language and Culture Program at UGM and intended to provide insights from alumni to broaden students’ understanding of potential career paths after graduation.
The session featured alumni who are also lecturers in the Korean Language and Culture Program at UGM: Mrs. Alfiana Rosyadi, S.S., M.A., Mrs. Iva Hanani, S.S., M.A., and Mrs. Sri Wahyuningsih, S.S., M.A.
This was the first event of its kind since the establishment of the Korean Language and Culture Program at UGM. In front of approximately 100 participants, all students of the program, the speakers shared their experiences — including working at Korean companies based in Indonesia and participating in internships in South Korea.
In addition to sharing their experiences, the speakers also offered practical tips and advice that would be highly useful as students prepare to enter the professional world. The event lasted about 1 hour and 30 minutes and concluded with a Q&A session.
Through this event, it is hoped that students of the Korean Language and Culture Program will gain broader insights into career opportunities.
