Yogyakarta, 9 November 2025 — Students of the Undergraduate Program in Korean Language and Culture, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, have once again demonstrated outstanding achievements beyond the academic sphere. In addition to maintaining consistent academic performance, students of the program actively develop their talents through various university-level activities, including sports and arts competitions.

In 2025, three students from the Korean Language and Culture Program took part in the Modern Dance category of Porsenigama (Universitas Gadjah Mada Sports and Arts Week), held at GOR Pancasila UGM. The preparation process took place intensively from 23 September to 2 November 2025. The Preliminary round on 3 November served as a crucial stage in assessing team readiness, followed by the announcement of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences team as one of the Top 5 finalists on 8 November 2025. The entire series of activities reached its peak during the Final competition on 9 November 2025.
In the final round, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences team delivered an exceptional performance and secured 1st Place. This achievement brings pride to the entire academic community and reflects the students’ strong potential to excel in diverse fields. The victory was made possible through the contribution of three Korean Language and Culture students—Oryza Sativa (Class of 2023), Justin Liepangi (Class of 2024), and Fransisca Cindy Putri T.H (Class of 2025)—each of whom played a significant role in the team’s success through to the final stage.

Regarding this accomplishment, Oryza Sativa stated, “This is my third year participating in the modern dance category of Porsenigama, and I am grateful to still be able to win. Dance has become a part of my life. Even with a new set of team members each year, I never felt discouraged—I believed that discipline in training and strong team chemistry would carry us to victory.”
Justin Liepangi also shared, “I am grateful to once again make the Faculty of Cultural Sciences proud in my second year competing in Porsenigama. I gained so many valuable experiences—meeting incredible teammates and learning so many new things over the past two years. I hope that next year our team can bring home another championship with an even more spectacular performance. :)”
Meanwhile, Fransisca Cindy Putri T.H expressed, “A whole new experience. I felt a bit pressured because FIB won gold last year. But thankfully, we managed to bring the champion title back home to FIB. ^^”
This achievement is expected to inspire other students to continue developing their potential—both academically and through student activities that strengthen character, creativity, and collaborative skills.
