Yogyakarta, October 2026 — The commitment of the Korean Language and Culture (BKK) Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to provide global-standard education has once again yielded a remarkable achievement. The BKK UGM Bachelor’s degree program has officially earned an international accreditation certificate from The Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN).
This prestigious seal of approval was issued on September 17, 2026, in Bayreuth, Germany. ACQUIN is an independent accreditation and quality assurance institute that has been registered as a member of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) since 2009. Recognition from this highly reputable European institution proves that the curriculum, teaching methods, and academic facilities at the BKK UGM Study Program have met stringent international higher education standards.
The validity period of this international accreditation is set for a substantial duration, lasting until September 30, 2032. This milestone is certainly not achieved overnight; it is the result of continuous dedication and synergy from all elements of the department, ranging from faculty leadership, lecturers, and academic staff, to students and alumni who consistently maintain a high-quality academic climate.
For students and alumni, this international accreditation brings highly significant positive impacts. This global recognition will not only facilitate the study program in establishing research collaborations and student exchange programs with leading universities abroad but also further enhance the credibility and competitiveness of BKK UGM graduates in the international job market.
Moving forward, equipped with the ACQUIN international accreditation, the Korean Language and Culture Study Program at UGM is committed to continuing its educational innovations. This step aligns with the vision of Universitas Gadjah Mada to consistently produce excellent, adaptive, and globally-minded graduates who are ready to bridge the positive relations between Indonesia and South Korea across various sectors.
