We are very excited to offer international students our 2022 Korean Language Program!
GLC is a Korean Language Center of Geumgang University;
we have been inviting international students to study Korean language and cultures from 2003.
Our language program includes Korean language education and cultural events for international students.

The 16-week program includes 20 study hours per week for a total of 300 hours with dormitory accommodation and extra, optional activities for students.
✥ Requirements
– Language Program Applicants : You must have a high school diploma or higher to apply to the Korean Language Program.
– Scholarship Applicants : Applicants must be fluent speakers of English, Japanese, or Chinese, and they should
1) be currently enrolled in university studies
2) be on leave from university studies, or
3) have graduated from university.
(Those who have not yet graduated from high school but are expected to graduate may not apply.)

* We may request additional documents for reviewing requested documents.
* For D-4-1 visa applicants : Geumgang Language Center will not screen soft copies. Applicants must submit the original documents via post.
* The original documents mean the actual original documents with an Apostille or notarization from the Korean embassy on it.
* CAUTION : Geumgang University will not return submitted documents.
* So if you have only 1 original diploma, please make a copy of it and get an Apostille or notarization from the Korean embassy on copied document.
* All requested documents should be submitted within the application period. We strictly follow the schedule for submitting documents, so if you will apply for a D-4-1 visa, your documents should arrive our office within the application period.
Please note that if your documents do not arrive within the application period, your application won’t be reviewed.

※ If your documents are not in Korean or English your documents must be translated to one of these languages and get notarized by the notary office.
Also, please submit both translated documents and original documents when you apply for the course.
※ Geumgang Language Center may request for additional documents depending on students nationality and situation. (A copy of family relationship certificate, transcript, etc.)
※ Students who have been in Korea for more than 6 months by holding a D-4-1 visa will be automatically registered for national health insurance.
Others who have been in Korea for less than 6 months must have private insurance until they can register for national health insurance. Health insurance proof is required.
✥ Scholarship
– Scholarship covers tuition for one semester.
– Scholars are to participate in our partnership program where they will be partnered up with Korean students;
teaching them international languages and creating an environment that is open to variety of languages.

✤ Important notes about travel considerations :
– Currently, international visitors who are fully-vaccinated with an approved COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca) may be exempt from having to self-isolate (quarantine) upon arrival in Korea.
