Yogyakarta, October 30, 2025 — The Korean Language and Culture Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, successfully held a guest lecture for the Comprehensive Korean I course with the theme “여행의 즐거움: Korean Language for Tour Guides”, at the Soegondo Building Auditorium, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, UGM.

The event began with an introduction of Mufidah Mardandari as the guest speaker, followed by a presentation that broadly discussed careers in the tourism industry. The speaker, who works as a tour coordinator, shared personal experiences in the field, including the challenges encountered, essential skills required, and various career opportunities available in the tourism sector.

In addition, the speaker introduced a volunteer program organized by the company, which is open to the public. This opportunity serves as a form of collaboration and cross-disciplinary learning that students can utilize to enhance their professional competencies and expand their networks within the tourism industry. Through this information, students gained insights into the volunteer activities and were encouraged to apply should another opportunity arise in the future.

The session continued with a sharing and Q&A segment, during which students actively participated and deepened their understanding through direct insights from the practitioner.

Through this activity, students not only enriched their knowledge of the Korean language and culture but also gained inspiration to contribute to the global and sustainable development of the tourism industry.
